Playing around with colours, trying to work out the best process. This was an old panel from the second page (I drew this sometime last year) but had to scrap it as things have changed a little with the opening and style. I still have a way to go before I'm happy with the colouring but need to get more practise in.

Edit: Mouselle is not in the box.

Edit 2: Realised the lamp wasn't lit so added a lamp light glow, and it looks much better for it, so now you have a day time and night time version :)

Edit 3: I can just go on and on updating this ^__^ Added a version at dusk and light from Mias' magic. This is so fun.

If you want to suggest a certain type of lighting I could experiment with please let me know

OK! I'm gonna tell ya right now, I have several oil-lit lamps in my house (because my parents and I.....we're antique collecters)

anyways - Vision:

Holy crap! I like how you made this simple little drawing and evolved it into a multiple lighting exercise! The real thing that got me was the little box in the backround that is moving - like all the comments say: what is in that box?

(may I take a guess and say a mouse {elle} is inside the box?)

originality: I've seen alot of people draw a person at his or her desk/couch/wherever, along with lighting schemes. The thing that made me happy, was that one of your lighting schemes were green! I have a oil lamp in my room that was modernized and has a little green lightbulb inside of it - so it shines green like the top lighting scheme :)

Technique: I love love your style! I like how you added the moving box instead of a simple non-moving one :p it gave the viewers a sense of curiousity and intrest in the drawing

Impact: Like I've said before, I love how you evolved this little simple drawing into a big exercise, and I love how you added the moving box - I hope you'll reveal to us what it really is in the future :)

These are very good! I love how each pic looks different with each kind of shading; you certainly handle lightings well. It must've been a lot of work colouring them, but they paid off. =D

Good job, keep it up! =)
