Description

Careful... it's a long way down...

I am so pleased with how this turned out. I'm not sure what made me draw this scene from the film, but I think it was the closeness Sheeta and Pazu shared and the discovery of Laputa. I liked their expressions, even if it is more comic than what Miyazaki portrayed in the film.

I have been trying to do a good piece of fan art for this film for years
In my honest opinion Laputa/Castle in the Sky is the greatest animated adventure story. I can'y find anything to come close to its scale and storytelling. The characters are wonderful, the setting and the style is both new and nostalgic and it has so many exciting high points.

I was so lucky to be brought up watching this film. It has played such a huge part in what I do today. This film made me want to be an animator. It just irks me that Disney did such a rubbish job re dubbing the original english version I was so familiar with. It makes me sad. This film is so special to me.

Edit: Changed the title because of all the comments about what Laputa may mean. I was aware of this, but that is what the film was called before Disney changed the title. Shame. Poor poor Jonathan Swift.

Aw, this is cute.  :)  I just saw this movie today and I LOVED it.  I've grown up watching other Hayao Miyazaki movies (like 'Spirited Away' and 'Howl's Moving Castle') and I love them!  This one is definitely going to be a new favorite.  :D

But, I didn't know that there was a English dub before the Disney one.  Was it really that much better?
